The memory leak fix is set to be included with FF7, not FF6.

Wow wasn't 4 and 5 released just this year? And here we have 6.

I still remember using 1.xx and making the exciting upgrade to 2 not too long ago

And it looks like the memory issue is still not fixed, I strictly remember ditching 3 for minefield then finally making the switch to Opera...and theres no going back

August 16th plus maybe a extra days is when it will be officially release for Firefox 6. Firefox 7 will go in beta, Firefox 8 will go in Auroa, and probably Firefox 9 will start to appear in nightly builds.
Also Firefox 3.6.20 is also release and Thunderbird Thunderbird 3.1.12 is also release.

This is going by

Yeah... not changing back until it even compares to opera features and speed wise. Recently opera has been the king of the browser wars imo

Nothing can compare to Opera Mail features like RSS feed reader in a tab.

For instance "fast dial" is not working with firefox 8 even if you use that thing.

Everybody that is having extension compatibility problems, have you guys added extensions.checkCompatibility.x.x [x.x=version Firefox you're running] and setting it to false in the about:config?

really this should just be ff5.5 or something.
It's only FF4.2, they just decided to use a whole new number like Chrome for each important update instead of adding "+.1".

Im still on 4.0.1 is there really any need to upgrade? Im stable and its pretty fast. Is the speed and memory improvement really noticeable and will all my 4x addons still work?

This new numbering scheme makes it hard to know when there is a major upgrade as opposed to minor ones...
