Thread Starter
Hello people.

Notebook: Sony Vaio VGN-FW51ZF /H
I took apart my notebook, to remove some scrathces from my display.
Now I put it together and when I Turn on, there is no video.
I mean, everything boots up, even can see that there is something going on whit the display (like when I turn on normally).
Any suggestions? Fixes? Whatever?

Thank you

See if show any video if you connect it to a normal monitor or TV. If it works normally like this you probably forgot to connect your video cable.

Maybe you forgot to attach something or a connection is loose.

Does it makes any sounds? Can you turn ON/OFF caps or numlock once it's booted? If it doesn't things can be a bit more serious, meaning it's not as simple as an unconnected vga cable

Okay, I chceked wires.
Now I can see, that there is everything on screen, but no backlight.

Could be a simple setting adjustment, like brightness is not configured right?

If it was hardware related, I would imagine that you bent one of the pins in the VGA cable connector or on the header, which explains why it's working fine but one of the functions is not working

Did you remember to plug in the inverter? The inverter is what lights up the screen on regular LCD's.

Inverter is usually located in the crease between the monitor and the rest of the laptop. I call it the "swivel point" lol.

looks somewhat like this

I'm dumb, I could've checked the inverter twice.
One of the connectors were not pressed correctly in to the inventer, re-connecting them helped
Thanks for the answers.
Anyways, I'm having this issue now:
