Board damaged after OC? Need diagnosis

Amd Athlon 64 3800+
2gb DDR2 Ram

Hi, I recently tried to make my first steps in OC and up my CPU a little. After little research, using a guide, I tried to inrease the external clock from 200 to 215. Also increased the core voltage by 0.05V.
Up until then everything was fine, I ran a CPU stress test for an hour and the system was stable.
Since the CPU's temp was stable at 50C, I thought I could get to 225 mhz without much harm. Now, I can't get this computer to boot up anything, even a livecd.

BIOS works.

Windows 7 tries to load = machine restarts.

Booting from Win 7 cd: "The file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum"

"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
[...]
File: \\windows\\system32\\boot\\winload.exe
Status: 0xc0000001
Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the app is missing or corrupt."

Puppy linux livecd gets up to the splash screen but the machine restarts during boot (tried all boot options).

Ubuntu livecd starts loading then gives me "uncompression error - system halted"

Tried resetting BIOS, removing battery, no change.

Should i start looking for a new motherboad or maybe its something else?

I struggle to see how such a relatively mild overclock could cause the board to die (unless, of course, it was already dying from something else).

How long did you leave the CMOS battery out for? I presume you unplugged the mains at the same time, and whatever jumper/pressed button required for BIOS rest.

If a board won't recover easily, I usually leave the battery out for an hour or so before trying again... it's amazing how much residual charge can hang around sometimes.

Other thing is to try it was a single stick of RAM, and as many integrated things as possible disabled (audio, NIC, 1394, etc), possibly even lacking HDD and ODD if you can boot from a known good USB flash drive with a bootable linux distro on.

What is the rated voltage on your RAM, and what was the voltage you were using at the time?
It may have hit the fan

@Paradigm Shifter - I left it out for 30 minutes, trying again now but for longer. Yeah I also used the jumper. Only unplugged the power cable, didn't disconnect anything from the motherboard yet. I'll try that, thanks.

@xd_1771 - rated voltage on my ram is 1.8 V and I didn't mess with that

It seems that RAM failure and inability to properly transfer data may be the culprit, since it fails on anything outside the BIOS.
Making sure RAM is set to whatever is rated, run memtest86+.

Going to have to run memtest86+ tomorrow, I'm out of clean media now.

Meanwhile I've tried:
running memory test from windows 7 cd, it just told me there are "hardware errors"
leaving the battery out for over an hour
unplugging everything possible from the board
removing RAM one stick at a time

problem persists

Just found a spare CD.
Memtest86+ reported almost 1 million errors after two passes. But is it the RAM or the motherboard's memory control at fault?

Your RAM took a crap, change it.
