Click on viewer in gpu folding = bsod?

Ok, I'm a complete noob. I had 2 clients, one for cpu and one for gpu. I clicked viewer in the gpu icon then it lagged my computer and gave it a nice bsod. Is that normal? I just wanted to see spinning molecules

Par for course with the viewer. Pretty as the spinning molecules may be running the viewer has a big negative effect on the performance of the client and, as you found out, can cause system instability.

Best to just leave it alone or switch to one of the console clients.

your system may not be stable. i had a similar problem when my gpu was overclocked a bit too far. it was stable for gaming and benchmarks but a half hour into folding and crash. try backing off any gpu oc you may have and see if the problem persists

Even running at stock the viewer can BSoD. If your system is folding stably then don't worry about your overclock - just don't use the viewer.
