Having a terrible time hitting 4.0 on i5 750

Thread Starter
Setup:

asus p7p55d pro
i5 750 (as stated before)
mushkin blackline 1600 2gb x2
pny gtx 460
xfx black edition 750w psu
HAF 932 advanced case
CM hyper 212+

I just cannot get to 4.0...I tried 191x21 with core at 1.35 vtt 1.225 and pll 1.8 with c-state speedstep and ce1 off with dram freq at 1800 and blue screened

Currently prime95'ing 3.8 @ 180x21 with core at 1.35 vtt at 1.24 (i think) and dram at 1800 rest on auto minus the c-state speedstep and ce1 off...getting 70c roughly on 100% load 10 min so far stable...

So any suggestions on hitting that 4.0 mark? Should I go vcore to 1.4? How should I set the vtt and/or should I work with the pll? Any suggestions would be great.

Try upping the vcore to 1.4v

And leave the other voltages the same?

Tried upping the IMC, increase dram voltage and loosening ram timings?

Take the multiplier down from 21 to 20 and do 20x200.

I personally would not take it to 1.4v for daily use as that is the chips max.

Yea I set it to 200x20 with vcore at 1.35 and the vtt at 1.3 and it BSOD'd me so i went to 1.38 on vcore...is that going to be ok for daily use or should I drop it back down and raise something else?

Meh prime failed almost immediately, suggestions?

why dont you run ur ram at its rated speed of 1600mhz instead of 1800...
maybe ur ram is not stable at 1800mhz..

I just did drop it to 1600

On higher frequency's you might need a higher IMC voltage.

With my previous i7-860 [1156] i needed 1.38Vcore for 4ghz
RAM at 1600mhz took 1.28V IMC and on 1800+ i needed 1.34V IMC voltage

I would drop down the RAM to 1333mhz and try get the cpu stable first, after that up the memory to 1600mhz and start play around with timings and IMC voltage.
Voltage on the dimms i always had on 1.65V and never needed a change.. not even on 2188mhz [needed over 1.4V IMC though so i dropped it to 1800+ mhz]
