Need help with high gain antenna

Ok, so I dont know where to post this so I will post it here. I would really like to get the best possible responses so if there is a better section then someone please let me know.

Alright well the deal is that I live right off of my schools campus and I really would like to be able to pick up the campus wifi. Below is a google maps picture of the campus with my house in the top right corner of the screen capture. I would really like some advice as to what kind of antenna to get/build(omnidirectional or directional) and what kind of gain(DBi?) it should have. Thanks for any advice!

Also, all the buildings where I know wifi repeaters are located are inside red boxes and my house is in a red box on the top right of the picture.

Edit: I feel confident I should be able to do this since I can already pick up the ssid(sometimes) from my house. I just dont have strong enough of a signal to connect.

I would look at maybe something like this.

Though I'm not sure if that would do.
But that thing has quite some range.

Hmm ya Ive seen those but I already have a network adapter, I am just looking for an antenna to screw into it. If all I need to do is buy a little antenna like that, this is way more easy than I thought. I thought I was gonna have to buy one of these.

Edit: Now I am thinking about canceling my order for the wifi adapter I bought earlier and getting the alpha. But I would definitely still like to hear some input on a directional antenna.

Eh. You could go that route. But you would have to get some pole outside and make sure it's high enough since there is those trees. Since the one you linked is directional.

Anyways. I would still look at the Alfa, because you could also use it with your laptop etc and still get amazing network coverage. I know in my Uni, there is some buildings that have dead spots and the Alfa is great for that. Best investment.

Should I try and get the 2w? Or the 1w, the ones with 1w seem to have better antennas and are prime eligible.

TBH. I'm not too sure about the 2mW.
1mW should be fine. I just linked both just in case.
