In the past 2 weeks I have been using a corsair force 3 120gb ssd. I kept getting numerous crashes. I read dozens of forums and reviews and told me to update the firmware. I did so, did a fresh install of win7. Within 5 hours windows crashes and then can no longer be found in the bios. I then read that there was a recall and I promptly returned it. I traded it in for what I am using now, a patriot pyro 120gb. I have had it less than 8 hours and have had 2 crashes and is doing the same thing that the other was doing. It crashes the system restarts and can no longer be seen in the bios. To fix this i just unplug the drive and re plug it in and it fixes it for a bit. I have installed win7 6 times in the past 2 weeks and I am getting tired of it.
Should I step away from Sata 3 for a while or just keep replacing it till I find one that does not crash?

wow that is bad! i would start to suspect some other part of your rig at this point.
I would begin with Motherboard/PSU/RAM.
you should thoroughly test the SSD with another rig if possible. If not put an HDD on your rig and do some stress testing. run OCCT for 8 hours and see if you get BSOD.

OCZ says P67 + Sandforce SSD = BAD

Get a Crucial M4 SSD. If it comes with v0001 firmware, update to v0002.

There don't appear to be any unknown crash/BSOD issues with C300's or M4's. Everyone that has one seems to have stable ones.

I was thinking that Kramy I really have not liked the sandforce so far and I will test this drive out a bit more, maybe i can get it to work, i have had it less than 24 hours. I do have a feeling that I will be taking it back though. Most crashes happen when i'm playing Star Craft 2...not sure why. It isn't even installed on this drive.
