Brand new fan clicking, possible to fix?

Thread Starter
Hi,

Brand new case: Corsair 600t, top 200mm fan is clicking. I really dont want to take everything out and go return it to the store (got it 2 days ago have 7 days).

Is there any quick fix if a brand new fan is clicking?

Thanks

It depends, is it catching on something or are the brushes in the motor clicking or is an electrical short.

Determine the source of the clicking then it would be easier to say.

Have you examined it to make sure nothing is sticking into the path of the blades like a piece of tape, or wire?

Its a pretty immaculate build. (which is why i reallly dont want to return anything).

So ya, nothing touching anything.

Its wierd, right when i boot up its not there, but after 5-10 min it is.

I just took it apart and put a drop of teflon dry lube on the back and front of the fan and so far so good. Hopefully it doesnt redevelop soon.

I love the case but im very disappointed in the build quality. I expected more from corsair :/

cant really complain for the price I got it at but still

Since the lube stopped it for awhile, it sounds like it's definitely something internal.

At this point, I would say changing it out is your best option. Better to do it now than wait and have a failure somewhere down the road.

I would PM YellowBeard or CorsairGeorge here and ask them about it. I will say that they seem to go out of their way to help folks with product returns. You can probably just get a replacement fan from them. Try that first and see if they can take care of you before going to the store where you'd probably have to exchange the whole case.

Just my 2c worth...hope it helps,

Rich
