Microcenter has stores in 23 cities only and this deal is pickup only.

Odds are... You can't get a i5 2500k for $180 unless you live near one. Most people.. Don't even live near one.

It's there though, Yes.

He might be confused a bit; it is more often AMD's graphics cards that have driver issues. I'm not sure about the hardware issues he speaks of. If you're not planning on purchasing till September or October, wait till then, then make a consideration between the FX CPU and any LGA1155 CPU.

AMD is having hardware issues?,stepping issues on production which is common when releasing chips, something most likely fixed before release and absolutely no reason to disregard a chip before it's even been seen.

ask him to show the proof.....
Intel boards just had a massive recall, again with another bad intel board
I would call that a hardware issue and a software issue combined.

just because one person claims one thing and someone else claims another is'nt reason enough for a logical human being to make their own self informed decision based on fact entirely.
intel this and intel that blah blah blah
amd this and amd that blah blah blah

wait for BD make your own self informed decision look at the #'s then decide.
I have a feeling AMD coming out swinging on this one just based on apu performance thus far.

Ya, you ever notice how the people that scream "AMD/ATI drivers suck" the loudest have Nvidia cards? Kind of makes you wonder.

I'd say they're about even on the suck meter, with Nvidia drivers a little worse at this point in time (going by the number of complaints on Nvidia forums). At least ATI drivers never killed anyone's card like the famous fan bug driver. I'd say that sucked pretty bad.

the hell is he talking about? chips from either Intel or AMD have very, very good QC. a processor from either camp is not gonna be breaking down on you... ram may arrive DOA. HD can be DOA or die over time. mobo may come DOA. but a chip?

honestly, don't trust your cousin, he's doing you a disservice by feeding you nonsense.
