Need a Cheap GPU Recommendation.

Thread Starter
I'm looking to get rid of my HD 4870 1GB, since I finally got to the point of my CPU Is not the one being bottlenecked. I was looking for something like a GTX 270 Or Higher. Something I can commonly find for a good price, and trade it out with my 4870 1GB + Cash.

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of a GTX 280 would be a swap + cash on my end, right?

Just give me recommendations on cards that are great performers, below 100$.

I don't want another AMD card.

IMO replacing an old high-end card with another old high-end card, or new low-end card is pointless.
Cash up till you can afford 560.

Seriously don`t just think the way you can get just 10% better graphic.
Save for gtx560 (without TI if you don`t OC) or even HD6850 which is 2x performance of your current.

I agree with ronnin save up/sell your card and get a 500 series card. I have 2 470's and a 275 both get about the same fps in bc2 depending on res and setting but no dx11 on a 275 either. I dont follow amd much so dont know how old that card is but if your going to upgrade it needs to be a real upgrade not a sidestep slightly moving forward. I cant stand playing on less than both of the 470's sli now!!!! LOL I've been ruined LOL

The lower id go for gaming is a GTS550/GTS450.

The Best bang is currently the GTX460 1gb that can be found for cheap.

Better and still not pricey, GTX560 TI.

Non TI isn't worth it. It's just a re-badged 460 with higher stock clocks and a higher price.
In progress.

Oh, and BTW. If you didn't read correctly, I'm not going with an AMD Card. I've had enough of a crappy experience with them.

I'd rather not get a 560. It's no real 'performance' upgrade. Going to something that I can afford that is substantially an upgrade, is fine with me. I just need to not have my GPU be bottlenecking my system.

Why would you ever go for a card that is 2 generations behind?? Seems dumb to me....

Look for the 68xx cards or a 5xx cards.

See, that's the good thing about it. People now know this to avoid it

Read my first post. I DON'T WANT A FRACKING AMD CARD.

I sware, some people just don't read everything.

It's not dumb. I don't need DX11. All it's improved was the AA/AF Maximum and somewhat on the shadow quality.

It's far cheaper to find a DX10 GPU.
