Drop In Waterblock for the Ivy/Sandy Bridge without the Tec Headaches - Page 11

I'm using a Coolit Eliminator on dual core CPU with 13c idle and a separate Eliminator on SLI 6800 GPU cards at 21c.
Isnt this TEC about the same except it requires DIY system setup?

The one thing to think of first is, what do I really need in performance results?
Then, how much hassle and cost do I have to run to get the results.
Sometimes I get lost in the excitement of the build and lose sight of the final goal.

Mind if I ask which CPU you have? If it's TDP is low enough, you won't need this, but if it's higher you'd want something like this over your eliminator.

On another note, this is meant for those people who have a decent water cooling setup and just want to get better temps without much in the way of extra hardware. It's intended for a 95W CPU, so if your current CPU is lower than that and works with an eliminator, then just leave it. You really don't need it.

Erm.

2700K/2600K/2600/2500K/2500 are all 95W.
Now anything below those, are 65W/45W respectfully.
And then, whatever 1156 i7's etc are.

This is amazing. I wonder if I could take the controller apart (5.25 in bay) and stick it on top of my 650D where the SATA 3.0 hotswap normally is as I don't have any free 5.25 and that block looks AWESOME!

It would need to fit here:


If it can be made (I can get the measurements for the acrylic) then I'm in to buy V3.0 (even with the extra for the custom job)

lol... np... all it does is keep the block from pulling so much heat away from the CPU that condensation forms... it monitors the temp of the block and keeps the cold side above X degrees C so dew doesn't form (at least thats how its usually done)

Here's a small dew calculator that you play around with.

The temp and humidity sensors will adjust the TEC so that it doesn't cross the dew point threshold. Hence you can keep you CPU at the lowest temp possible without dew OR having to insulate your whole board. It's basically the TEC equivalent of a Corsair H100 (what water cooling is to TEC chillers or HS's), all in on solution for a bolt-on, dummy proof TEC.

He did say dual core. Even the dual cores with are 45 or 65W whether it be Core 2 Duo or i3.
