Drop In Waterblock for the Ivy/Sandy Bridge without the Tec Headaches - Page 3

Why would you all blindly buy such a product? It has such high powerdraw that even at extrem cooling it is fail written over it. Yeah CPU gets "few" degrees colder than usual RASA KIT, but the water gets much hotter, and thou the air in the room.

You are water-cooling a 150W heater on top of the CPU for gods sake.

Actually at idle the controller is holding the TEC at about 12% to cool the block to 21ºc as my ambient is around 27ºc right now.. so I'm only using about 18 watts.

I could definitely add the 775 bolt pattern, but as for the 1366, thats what this blocks big brother is for..

http://www.overclock.net/peltiers-tec/1060090-new-tec-water-block.html

Well I have enough fan/rad to run the big Q4-Tec setup.. but does that one have universal mounts? I wouldnt mind paying for a larger cooling solution like this.. but I bench/swap daily users quite a bit..and would need something capable of running all Intel platforms from 775 to current.

*Maybe a interchangeable mounting bracket for AMD/Intel would be a better solution? ..

I have the 1555 and 1366 hole patterns on that block. I'm sure I can squeeze the 775 pattern on it as well, I think its 72mm spacing for the 775 if my memory serves me correctly.

Is this guy full of crap or does he actually have a point? If I knew anything about this I would say. I think the results kinda speak for themselves but thought I would ask anyway.

Would it make sense to drop this in a loop with a GPU (560ti x2)? How hot would the water be when it comes from the TEC?

I would love to buy 1x if it can accommodate all of the intel socket patterns.. are these big one commercially available yet?

Water temps could be from Ambient up to 45°C off the TEC, but that's just my best guess. And depends on temp comin' into the TEC. They tend to warm the water up in the loop to a certain point and if the radiators can't cool it well enough temps of the CPU will rise slightly, but that also takes a little bit of time.
