Build compatibility? - Page 2

I would suggest the Corsair 600t
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139003

Great cable management, lots of room, 6 hard drive bays and a fan controller.

On a single GPU setup you can go microATX form factor and get a small portable gaming beast. I happen to be building one now on the ASUS Gene-Z mobo which is mATX. There a bunch of really cool mATX cases out there from NZXT, Fractal, Corsair etc. I got the In Win BR665 for my build.

Are you building this for gaming?

8gb is more than enough. I have no problems with 4gb. 16 is just being wasteful unless you really need to use programs that eat that much.

As other people have said, the 2600k isn't worth the extra money. Only go for the 2600k if you do lots of encoding.

Motherboard wise, motherboard B will work with the CPU, but unless you need the integrated graphics, then go for a p67 board instead of a z68, it wont save much, but you will be paying for features you dont use otherwise. Only other thing worth mentioning that the z68 has over the p67 is the ssd caching, but I dont know if this is worth the extra money.

As for cases, something like the cm690 II should be just fine. You almost definitely dont need a full tower. You can use practically any atx case, so take a look at all the ones available in your price range, and pick your favourite. Don't go overboard though. Stick with mid towers.

Graphics card isn't bad, but if you have budget room to expand in to then get something like a 6950 or a 560. If the card you get requires lots of power (or if you do crossfire/sli), then you will need to change the psu as well.

When building a computer it helps to keep in mind what you will use it for. Dont buy a big graphics card if you will just be browsing the web all day.

Edit:

This looks much better. If it will all fit in budget then go for it.

That's pretty good. Do you plan on using the stock CPU heatsink?
