Considering you have a GTX 570, overclocking your i5 to 4.5Ghz would show some performance differences but probably not much.
4.2Ghz - 4.5Ghz you won't see any REAL performance difference.
But with that being said, for a Sandy Bridge OC, it's all about your vcore and your temps. If you have the proper cooling, go for a high OC, but I PERSONALLY wouldn't go over 4.5Ghz if your just gaming. Anything above that is really just for benches and and all that other stuff.
EDIT - Even a 4.0Ghz OC with that 570 would make for a really nice combination, like I said before though, don't go any higher than 4.5Ghz for gaming, and watch your vcore and your temps.
