thanks guys
the max amount of 24" monitors i can fit on my desk is 2 and it will be a little squeeze and i'll have to slightly tilt the monitors which is fine with me, i also thought about the bezels being an issue but my bezels are fairly thin (approx. 1.5cm) compared to my previous monitor. i play DiRT 3 and have ordered BFBC2 and hope to play BF3. i think i'll be able to manage having the bezels there, besides oim not going to be gaming all the time
im going to start college very soon so i think another monitor then crossfire will be a better option
thanks again for the replies

I remember trying to play l4d on 2 monitors. Took me about 4 minutes to quit. It can't be done effectively.
If you have a rig that can run any fps right now, take a 3cm (1.5cm + 1.5cm) wide strip of tape or something and put it vertically across your monitor. You won't enjoy it. I realize that will actually take up part of your view, but you will get the idea. Not pleasant.

yh i can always game on one, but ive like the idea of having two monitors, just the convenience of running 2 programmes on full screen
i know first person shooters will be a pain but racing might be fine
