First Rig

Thread Starter
Hi overlockers, I'm new to the forum but I hope to be a regular soon enough Ive researched all the parts for my first rig, which is meant to be a gaming/matte painting/3D compositing machine. All the parts are listed in my system below, I'd really appreciate it if a veteran could let me know if all these pieces are compatible and will work properly together. Thanks in advance!

Yeh it will work..

but the Coolermaster silent pro 700W is a bit crap... idealy get a hx650 on that rig

and the Coolermaster V6GT all talk - i know it fits ur colours but its just a tiny cooler covered in plastic.

.. maybe look at Noctua d14- checked clearance will fit. It will get miles better temps.

ive not heard much of VTX3D .. i think i would look at. trusted brands asus, sapphire ect.

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-a...vi-displayport - that gpu will look BOSS in the all black system!

CPU and memory is good, would suggest going for the cm v8 instead of v6 for the i7. If you want to be more future proof I would suggest a z68 mobo instead of the p67 but its not a big deal, INTEL just has a reputation of changing their chipsets allot along with their cpu compatibility so if you want to future proof with intel you should go for the newest chipset. The system otherwise looks nice and I like that you went for the VTX3D GPU, it is very easy to do a bios flash on their reference card if you can get the memory controller bus to cooperate.

Good luck and enjoy the rig

You could also go for an ASRock motherboard in there with all the same features for less than the Asus. Better boards in my opinion as well.

ASRock and Asus are both good but I dont think z68 will be any more future proof as current P67 boards support 22nm CPUs which will be ivy bridge.
