Will there ever be another diamondback?

The Razer Diamondback was my first ever gaming mouse, and although it has given me alot of problems during the time I had it, I loved the way it felt. With that said, does anyone know if Razer will maybe reactivate the Diamondback series and start making them again? If not, does anyone know a place I can order them?

I doubt as abyssus and lachesis "replaced" it

DeathAdder, Abyssus, Lachesis. You still need a diamondback?

DeathAdder is arguably one of the best imo. I've had it for 4 years. No problems what so ever.

There is a mouse that I picked up on eBay for around $20, that is essentially a knock-off of the Razer Diamondback design, except there are no buttons on the right side, just two thumb buttons on the left, plus a CPI switch on top (600, 1000, 1600 cpi) and there is no driver software. It's from a company called E-Blue (or E-3LUE) and the mouse is called the Cobra. It uses a Pixart PAN3509 optical sensor, which unfortunately there is not a lot of info available about it on the net; it seems to be a design that Pixart licensed from Avago. I've only played with the mouse a little bit. It has light prediction, but seems otherwise pretty good, no worse than the Diamondbacks. I haven't tested the malfunction speed. The build quality is better than I expected, probably not too far off from Razer mice of that vintage ;-) . The rubber coating on top is also surprisingly good. The side grips are lightly textured plastic, as in not-completely-smooth-or-glossy. The cord is thicker than Razer's, but thinner and more flexible than most others. Anyway, if you're desperate for a Diamondback-shaped mouse, this might fill the bill for you, and it'd be hard to beat the price.

Actually looks like a decent mouse. Though I would personally pull it apart and remove those weights.
The weight's not that bad, 96 g, with the cord laid off the scale. I'd guess the built-in weight is around 20g, that could easily be taken out. I took a few cell phone pics for a size comparison, see below. As long as I had the mouse out again, I did a quick "speed check" with the mouselogger; the malfunction speed turns out to be around 0.75-0.8 m/s (assuming no acceleration, just using the three listed cpi's to calculate), which truly isn't the greatest; that's more like the Copperhead, than the Diamondback, and maybe not enough for fast-paced FPS games, unless you play at medium to high sense. It polls at 125 Hz, as-is. I didn't bother trying to increase the USB report rate with the HIDUSB hack, so I don't know if there is any headroom to improve the malfunction speed that way. There is another variant of this mouse, with 2400 cpi, instead of 1600 cpi, for a few $ more, but I haven't got that one to test.
