Asus monitors are often said to be the best of the lower end monitor market. Also the VH series get great reviews. So I would go with the Asus out of those personally.

I've had my 24" Asus 2ms LED monitor for about 2 months now and couldn't love it anymore than I already do. The features are nice, and the picture quality is amazing.

Go with Asus and don't look back.

If I'm not mistaken DVI is the same as HDMI without audio.

I could be wrong though.

HDMI and DVI would be essentially the same. However, if the HP and Asus only have VGA, I would be hesitant about buying either.

Asus = 171 USD
