Logitech G500 or Razer Deathadder Black Edition - Page 3

I've tried both and the DA is more likely to satisfy a bigger range of gamers than the G500. Without repeating what everyone else has already said, the DA3.5G and 3G have one of the best sensors on the market as it tracks extremely well and has pretty much no prediction at all. As far as build quality, both are fantastic but my vote goes to Razer for making one of the best mouses since the IMO1.1

First of all sorry for my late posting in this thread. I was just surprised when I see so much hate on the G500. eek.gif

Anyways here's my experience:

I bought the G500 April this year and then 2 months later the DA black edition. I use my mouse mostly on a Steelseries Qck+ cloth pad but sometimes on my desk as well and both mice works perfectly fine on both surfaces.

I actually preferred the G500 instead of the DA black edition because I didn't really like the feeling of the coating of DA black edition and my hands somehow get sweaty faster when I'm using the DA black edition, G500's shape seems to fit my hand better and I like the weird "sandpaper like" coating on the G500, it also has the awesome scroll wheel which I really like for some reason.

I read from the wiki page here and it says:

"The Logitech G500 mouse uses the same laser sensor found in some other high-end logitech mice. Many have noted that the sensor is prone to "hiccups" at high dpi settings, "pixel crawl" effects, and acceleration issues. All of these issues have been fixed with sensor firmware updates, the most recent being version 58.18."

I checked mine and mine is the 58.18 version the day I bought it. Could it be that those of you who have problems weren't using the latest version?

My G500 said 58.18 right out of the box in 2009. Some might like the features of the G500 (I sure as hell don't) but the sensor has always had positive acceleration and on some cloth pads a lower perfect control speed.

Interesting, I never notice or had any issues with mine and I game a lot. Oh well, maybe I'm just not as picky as everyone else then. tongue.gif

Acceleration is not that noticable on G500.

... and that goes for just about any argument about jitter, prediction, and etc on any modern "gaming" intended mouse. If you notice these things, you would probably also benefit from OCD meds. biggrin.gif

Lol, that's cute. applaud.gif I think you took my comments a bit more personal than I intended. But in hind sight what I said was over the top, making fun of a very real and very serious disability. I sincerely apologize to anyone that may have offended.

I'm just saying, there's a lot of "measurebating" that goes around in these forums and quite frankly any truly skilled player won't care about any of it. All that really matters is what works best for you. If you need to be obsessive about your input devices to enjoy your games I can't argue with that.

... and since I just spent that last 3 days obsessing over which mouse I like the most, I would definitely put myself in the "over obsessive" category. *guilty*

I don't game like spinning around and taking tests about the 5% acceleration.
