I am no expert, just read on here a lot, and have spent hours and hours trying to get past 4.2 stable under 1.55v. It isn't going to happen on this board. Ive have tried every combination I could think of.

Okay, so I managed to get it up quite a bit! But..it's not stable. Where do I increase the voltage? Which value do I raise?

Also, As far as the multiplier goes, when i raise it to as far as 13, raising the FSB doesnt increase my processor speed at all. it just sits at auto and works fine. (Im running in a UEFI BIOS)

I have no experience with the UEFI bios yet. I will next week. The voltage should say CPU voltage, CPU/NB voltage, etc. You want the CPU voltage. As for the CPU not increasing anymore, I don't know why it wouldn't. Thats weird. Maybe someone else will chime in on that aspect.

How far did you take it? How do you know it isn't stable? You are running IBT to test stability correct?

Well, I took it to 3.6ghz with the RAM toned down, and NB/HT as close to 2000 as I could keep it. The system just restarted on its self, so I assumed that there wasn't enough voltage being sent in to it. Once I found where to increase the voltage, I raised it from 1.2 by .08 and when i restarted, I got an "Overclock Failed!" message. Wonder where I messed up?

Also, I kept the RAM just below 1333.

Any insight as to what I should do differently?

*Edit* Ram was at 1492mhz (mines capable of 1600)

Also, at 3.2 it was very stable...but when doing my typical stuff, such as playing my game, my processor was still peaking at almost 100% - around 90% or so. Kinda thought there would be a difference there from 2.6.

Another thing: The integrated memory controller means that a CPU can be fine at a speed but the memory controller will hate it.

Use a Prime95 Blend test; this, I have found, exposes problems with the memory controller pretty quickly.

Yes, I use a combo of Prime and gaming to make sure I am stable, but just to make sure like the initial overclock is good I run 5 tests of Intel burn on the normal setting. If it passes, then I push on to a higher overclock. That just makes sure my temps are good etc.

Well, I set the CPU/NB voltage to 1.35, with a core clock of 3.6ghz, HT at about 1960 and HT/NB at 2240 and I got a blue screen. My memory is still at 1492mhz.

Any insight?
