Low CPU voltages

Thread Starter
So after having my i5 at 4.6 for a while, and attempting 4.8 (massive failure until I hit 1.41v, which is higher than I'd like), I decided I'm just going to stay at a modest 4ghz for the sake of temperatures and longevity of the processor.

My question is: Using offset to set the vcore, at what point will the CPU receive too little voltage to run properly at the downclocked 1.6ghz? Currently sitting just under 1.

Hi smile.gif

Why don't you just use the "Go faster button" biggrin.gif
But then, re-boot. Go into the bios and set the BCLK back to 100. And set your Ram to spec smile.gif

I, also don't feel the need to thrash my chip! And doing it like I said. Gives me 4.3GHz at 1.28v cool.gif
And, believe me when I say. I have kept any eye on my volts wink.gif
I even had the android app to watch em! As Well as on my G15!

edit, auto overclock will probably give you a 42x multi!
And if when testing, you don't like the volts! Just go in the bios, and drop the multi down a notch ninja.gif

So, hit the fast button, put the BCLK to 100, and sort the Ram speed!

Some will say, "Don't use auto"! But for such a low overclock, most who know ASUS and Sandy Bridge. Will agree, it's fine cool.gif
