Soundcard too hot Xonar STX wedged between 2x 6970 CF

Hey guys,

I really need your help!

ive recently purchased 2 HD Radeon 6970's and have them in crossfire on a crossfire iv mobo,

my Soundcard the Xonar Essence STX is wedged between the cards and on touch i can tell its getting really really hot!!!

I had hardware pro running and after running Crysis 2 on max settings for about 2 hours i saw the GPU temp went as high as 94.5 degrees!! and my case was too hot to touch!! also am worried about my soundcard as its wedged in between them!

I have the HAF 922 case, with the 200mm at the top blowing downwards getting air from Outside>Inside
,
For the cpu i have the H70 in push pull drawing air from the inside> outside.

I also have a 200 mm fan at the front drawing air from outside> Inside.

Please advice me!! thanks!

I'd be more concerned about my 6970's than my sound card. No other slots for it I assume ? I'd be looking into a new case or some aftermarket fans. What are your cards fan speeds set at ? Use afterburner or something similar to set a more aggressive fan profile. You should be at or near 100% speed running crisis for 2 hours.

ahh well its a relief knowing my soundcard is ok! as for my case, its an open case! with pleanty of air going to it!

This is the layout of my cards

-6970
-PCI
-Asus Xonar STX
-PCI
-6970

going to check after burner out now!! cheers!

am not sure what speed the fans are running at!

You can get a riser to move the sound card out from between your video cards.

or take a case fan laying around and simply zip tie it above the soundcard. OR use mounting tape, or something cheap to secure it with.
