Soundcard too hot Xonar STX wedged between 2x 6970 CF - Page 2

Heat rises, you should really put that top fan to exhaust, side panel as intake, and front to intake. Creating a custom fan profile for your 6970's wouldn't hurt either.

With that setup you are just pushing the heat back at the cards, flip that sucker around at set the side as intake. You should notice a difference.

If your cpu is setup as exhaust and the top is exhaust how would that work. I'm confused with what you're trying to say.

Heat only rises if the air is still, which it shouldn't be in a case with fans.

This is very true but if you don't have a fan pulling out any hot air your hardware will heat up. Back on topic though, you could try zip tying a 120mm fan on the hard drive cage blowing air towards the 6970's and sound card to cool them down.

this is my case, ive just uploaded the pic now! As you can see its open case! i do not put the side panel on cuz i like to look at the insides(lol)#

anyways the blue represents cold air!
red represents hot air!

hope that makes sense!

thanks
