[SOLVED] 4th core unstable (AMD x2 560 BE) - Page 2

if you reach 3.99 (4ghz) with 3 cores it's enough for everything ... if you want to stay with 4th core stay with 3.5 ghz with 3.99ghz it's 100% unstable

I try to blend test my cpu without any unlocked core. Pass 8 hour with stock setting. Just want to be sure whether it's my cpu or ram clock are not stable. Memtest86+ didn't detect any error even if I set my ram at 1600 6-6-5-15-1T 1.65v so I assume my ram are fine. However freeze during blend. Stock setting for 1600, 1333 I get rounding error. While at 1033 I get illegal sumout. So, is this a cpu or ram problem?

Is your NB clocked? Try clocking it to 2.5.......

I don't think I can get to 4 core because it's very unstable. Often freeze and need to do hard reset. But with 3 core whether core 1,2,3 or 1,2,4 are very stable during daily use but will fail blend test even at stock setting.

I did at 2600, HT at 2000. What other else you think might have cause this? Or I clock way to high. But most of the search blame the error to ram and vcore. I'll try with lower clock (3.8-3.9).

Sometimes the core is defective, but its normally the same core every time. I think you just need MOAR volts to get stable IMO. The CPU-NB will need more volts if your OC'ing it also.

Be happy with 3 cores from a dual. I have had 2 555BE that never unlocked even to 3 cores, let alone 4.

Guys, is it normal more core cost less voltage especially in unlocked cpu? My x2 560 BE for 2 core auto volt at bios is 1.387 while for 3 core auto volt 1.368. Now I wonder is low voltage in extra core make my pc freeze in blend test. What do you guys think?
