Neither.

First of all the single 2GB DIMM will cause a bottleneck to your gaming performance due to both being a low amount of memory and in single channel
Second of all the ASUS LE board uses 3+1 phase which is not very overclocking ready
Third of all the 6770 definitely well behind 6850

See if you can find other options where you are, i.e. a board in between the LE and USB3 with better VRM setup or features or chipset, and/or perhaps another good card for low cost such as GTX 460. On that site the GIGABYTE 880GM-USB3 costs 4800 and is a great in between choice.

I second this. Also as Eric said earlier, an x3 rana would be a great option. Mine with a 6850 does great. Might even unlock into a quad, but even at 3 cores is quite capable. Also, as Xd stated, get 2 sticks of ram so that it operates in dual channel. Single channel (and only 2 gigs in Win7) is going to feel like you have an old celeron on ddr (not kidding).
It's so little!

Hi, Aniket.. thanks for the help !

I've got 2 cabinets (the current one) and my several yrs. old iball cabby...

Here are the cabinet pics.. first 2 are the one that I'm currently using.. xtech with 2 fans on the side cover..

The next 2 pics is my 6 yr old Athlon XP iball cabinet (codename - benz i guess) with a fan at the back.

To my assumption, the xtech is an m-atx & the iball is an an atx (suitable for my new 955be + 6850 + cx430 v2 build)

Thanks for helping me out here..
- I had not chosen 4gb cuz of the fact I use win xp over win 7 and with a 32-bit OS, 4 gb is anyway going to be a 3.3 !
- The LE board was the choice for the x4 840 and not the 955 be !
- I had clubbed the 6850 with x4 840 & the 6770 with 955 be just to compensate the budget. (mobo for 955be costs much high)
But then, now I'm planning to get the 955be /w 6850

U were perfect with the selection of 880GM-USB3 ! I was planning to go with the 880GA-UD3H which is even more better ?
The Asus M4A87TD/USB3 is also still under consideration.
Thanks !

Go with asus m4a87td usb3.
I think the i-ball cabinet will support atx mobo.
Like others said,get 4gb ram.
4gb corsair value series 1333mhz costs only rs1550.
Windows XP supports dx9 but HD6850 is a dx11 card.
So if you want to get the full potential performence of a dx11 then obviously install Windows 7.
Dont fool yourself by installing Windows XP.
XP is quite outdated for mordern games.
In XP(since it supports dx9) you will miss some graphics features of mordern games.
Go with Windows 7.
Hope this helps.

Have been away for a while. sorry abt that..
Yes, agree with the 64-bit windows 7 & 4gb ram. will go with that..

Now that the cabinet problem is also solved, only decision is on whether I must be going for the MSI cyclone 6850 or Saphire Toxic 6850 ? What do these cyclone or toxic offer me in extra .. from the plain MSI 6850 / Sapphire 6850 (if at all these ordinary versions exist ?)

Edit: Also the GTX 460's (which I believe are the Nvidia counterpart for the 6850) are pcie 2.0 whereas these 6850's are pcie 1.0 versions.. would that matter ?
I'd say unless you're dead set on ATI, consider a GTX460. Not sure about prices in India, but in the US they run about $40 cheaper. You could use that money to get an extra 4GB of RAM without stretching your budget anymore.

Does the 460 beat the 6850 ?
Also, the price of the 6850 from sapphire (even the plain non-OC'ed) version is 10.5 k here in my place.. (230 US $)
wat do i do now..
