hai there im looking at a new system and cant decide what mobo to get

basically i will eventually get sli gtx 580's (only 2 of em), so it needs to have nice sli and some overclocking capabilities

well the rig will be a 1000 watt psu (not shure which yet)
dual gtx 580's
ripjaws X series 8 gig ram
i7 2600K overclocked to 4.5 or whatever is safe without any extra heatsinks.
a big case

so i was thinking about the ASrock Fatal1ty Professional
or the sabertooth p67
or the p8p67 Delux

my budjet is roughly $250

so just post back what mobo you sugest (its night time here so ill post back tomorrow )

Out of the ones you listed, I picked the P8P67 Deluxe. However, you could save some money and get the P8P67 Pro. When cards are run x16 SLI and x8 SLI there is almost no noticeable difference. If you have the money though, might as well go for the Deluxe!

Sabertooth I would definitely caution against. It's a decent board but I've heard of people having problems with heat getting stuck under the plating. With GTX580 in SLI you're going to be generating a lot of heat, so the Sabertooth might not be the best choice.

Ok then I looked at the poll results and it looks like the P8p67 Deluxe is what you guys would reccomend.
I was wondering if any one could get a comparison or tell me the difference between the ASUS P8p67 Pro/Deluxe and the ASRock Fatal1ty Pro.

My budget for my Mobo is actually $250

So the P8p67 deluxe is within my budget

I'll be posting back in about 13 hours

Built a PC for a friend that included the P8P67 Deluxe and 2500k. fantastic is all i can say. you'll enjoy it!

I do recommend you upgrade from the crappy intel CPU cooler. it truly is just a paperweight. if you want to stick with air cooling i suggest the CoolerMaster Hyper 212. and for only 30 bucks

Agreed, the hyper 212 is probably the best cooler at it's price that you can get right now. The intel cooler is pretty much a joke.

As for boards, I'm an asrock fan, you won't go wrong with the fatality pro.

please wait 24hours before bumping your thread.

Personally I would go for the Asus P67 WS revo for that kind of budget, gives the the extra PCI-E for Tri SLI if you want in the furture.

it's $240 after MIR here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131714

BTW why those three? there are far better value mobo's that have simliar features and are great, the Asus P8P67 PRO, Gigabyte P67 UD4 and the Asrock P67 extreme4 are some of them. THe deluxe has nothing really fancy over the PRO version except for the 16+2 power phase which is 'overkill' when the 12+2 PRO does exceptionally well. If your thinking of spending that much on a P67 mobo I would definitely get one that can do TRI-SLI and the WS revo fits the bill perfectly. Just something to think about.

thanks for the bump info
and i was originally looking at the Maximus 4 Extreme untill ui realised that i didnt need to overclock much XD.

i was mainly looking at the Fatal1ty since its cheap and it can do tri sli (i think).
but ill have a look at the prices for the p8p67 ws Revolution since i live in tasmania under australia

just checked and it sells for $350 down where i am
and the fatal1ty is $300 so im looking at around the $300 mark

OMG just checked that the p8p67 Deluxe is $240

and this Ram looks nice http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...82x4GB%29+DDR3

and is it worth the extra $100 to go from a i5 2500K to a i7 2600K?
