Need advice for my 1st WC PC

Hello!
First post on OC forums
I decide to build my first WC PC and i bought my CPU,MB and 2 GPUs.
I'll try to start with OC hobby and all parts have to be good for OC !
Now I need help with rest of the parts

I got :

CPU - Intel Core i7-990X Extreme Edition Gulftown 3.46GHz
GPU - 2 EVGA GeForce GTX 590 Classified Hydro Copper
MOBO - EVGA X58 Classified3

I need :

everything else

Need help to make choice between :

Corsair Obsidian Series 800D (I like the design and price)
and
LittleDevil LD PC-V8 (I like the room and don't like the price)
Also i have brand new ABS Canyon 695 but doesn't look good for WC
I prefer not to mod the case, because i'm not good at this

PSU - need suggestions because i'm really confused after reading many reviews and forum posts.Do i need 1200 or 1500 w ?
If i need 1200/1500 which one from which company ?


RAM - still have no clue which one i need and size/speed/how many sticks.There is way to many to choose from
Have to be really good for OC


Need help with water cooling parts that i need !
Like i said i never done this before and i have to start walking in the right direction with your help !

I want to WC in 2 or 3 loops.Not sure yet(i guess it depends on case to).
Not sure if i can or how to WC RAM.
Do i need 2 x 480 radiators or 3 x 480 radiators or 2x480 radiators and 1 small (240 or 360) for the ram.
Need help with loops design when i decide which case i need/want.

If you can afford the Little Devil then get it .. You can put 480 rad on top

First we need to know how much money you're going to spend for this baby, so we can help you choose how many loops / which parts you should buy

what are you building this rig for? wouldn't a 2600k be a better cheaper option than the 990x? I think 99% of the time it will just flat outperform a 990x.

you want at least of 120mm of rad per component, so in your case 5x 120mm more wont hurt ofc. though you may struggle to fit much more into an 800d without modding it.

Looks like your building one beast of a rig, take your time dropping that much cash you want to be really certain what your trying to achieve and build towards that point rather than just going O.o that's expensive that must be my best option.

For gaming you will find that the newer sandy-bridge processors will far outperform the more expensive 990x you may also find that for some applications like multi monitor gaming the 590 doesn't perform as well as the 6990 thanks to its much lower vram.

if however your only interested in folding then the nvidia card just cant be beat (unless they finally fixed it for ati)

3 GTX 580's with 3 gb vram also do a nice job for 2d surround or 3d vision.

You should seriously consider CaseLabs. It is the best case by far and there are numerous configurations which are outstanding for H20 cooling. I am doing three loops in mine and there is plenty of room.

Tubing Primochill LRT Pro

Until you decide on your case and how many loops, it's difficult to recommend a rad.

I dont have limit on my spendings , but i prefer to not throw money for something i dont need.

My PC is for casual gaming and some *nix pyrit .That's why i need 990x.For the 6 cores.
I need nVidia for CUDA thats why i went for 590 and not for ATi
I have 1 monitor only.When/if i decide to buy more monitors ill think about your advice.Thanks!

With CaseLabs, no modding is required, unless you order the wrong case. I have the TH10 with pedestal and it fits a lot. If you send Jim an e-mail, he will tell you exactly what you need.

2 loops is easier and once you get over 6GB, OC'ing is a little more difficult.
More rad space is better as long as you have enough pump capacity.

Fair enough but your paying $700 more for a proccessor that only performs marginally better in that one aplication and infact performs worse in most others. I'd go for the 2600k now and then in a few months times when ivybridge hits the new proccessor from that line up will totally and utterly blow the 990x out of the water in every application.

even putting that money into an extra gpu would make more sense in terms of pure performance from pyrit i think. Its not a program I have used myself but from what i know of it it likes gpu's achitecture better than cpus anyway. I am almost 100% certain that going for another 590 @ $750 would increase your performance more.
