Anyone with the Gigabyte UD7 have problems with the PCIe x1 slot and the heatsink?

Thread Starter
I'm looking at 1155 boards and I'm leaning towards the UD7, but a reviewer on Newegg raised a good point; the heatsink is directly behind the PCIe x1 slot, effectively making a ton of sound cards (including mine) incompatible. Is this an actual problem?

I believe you can put your soundcard in a PCIe x16 slot even though it has a x1 interface. So unless all your x16 slots are take up by other stuff, it shouldn't be a problem.

Yes.. Your sound card won't fit there with stock heatsink. You can see my worklogs for more detail.. I have similar setup with yours.. I don't even have anymore space in pci-e x16 slots
