trifire 2bad 6950 and 1 good?

According below pictures can 2 Sapphire 6950 Dirt3 edition be crossfire with the 3slot Asus 6950?

The sapphires only have 1 Crossfire bridge but the Asus has 2.
Incase it can does the Asus have to be primary card, I'm not sure if that's possible as depends if the bridge cables are long enough

It might work, but the asus would have to be in the middle. It could not be on the top or bottom. The cards need to be bridged in series not 2 cards bridged to one.

I have a long crossfire bridge that connects 2x 5850 on the blue slots.

I think it should work as long as the sapphires aren't height so cutting the bridge length.

in that case the asus is in the right blue slot and bridges bot 5850

edit--> I'm tired, you mean that it has to be in order, even though both cases connect 2cards to 1card(asus).
So it is not possible have asus on blue slot and have sapphire connect to it?

Even with a really long crossfire bridge like below, it might not be long enough with the Asus on the bottom. It is best to have the Asus in the middle.

The longer bridge in a computer:

There might not be enough slack in the crossfire bridge to cross over if Asus is on the outer cards.

I don't mind having the asus in the middle, but seeing as it is a black slot, I propably need to connect my display's to one of the sapphires.

Will there be any problems as the Asus is the 2 bridge card, maybe that makes no difference and I can output dispay from the sapphire?

I understand why you want the Asus to be the bottom blue slot now. That is the card that will be x16 in triple crossfirex.

I presume your Asus 6950 is the double slot DirectCU and not the triple slot DirectCU.

For your eyefinity setup, do you use 2 DVI and 1 DP (with active adapter)? If you do, it does not really matter which card is primary. It would only matter if you were using three DP monitors. In that case, you would want want to use the Asus one since it has 4 DP connectors.

The 3rd PCIe slot (blue) should be your primary card since it is x16. Just plug in your monitors into to that one and enable CFX in CCC.

If a different card is primary instead of the one you want, just disable CFX in CCC. Plug the monitors into the card you want and enable CFX again.

Actually the sapphire are dual slot and the Asus is 3slot card.
Thats the reason I can't put the Asus to the blue slot closest to cpu.

According some this card should be in middle for proper trifire, also it seems as if I should not have any problems picking which slot to be primary.

Why do both card from shappire have only 1 crossfire link? There should be 2, that might be causing your problem, have you tried running only Dual cards? Both the dirt 3 edition to see if the work?

no I'm planning on buying 2 sapphire 6950 and 1 6950 Asus, I can't buy 3 Asus because of space. The asus is 3 slot the sapphire is 2 slot.

I would prefer Sapphire and Asus combo as they have more silent and better cooling then reference cooling.

Get the MSI cards, same price, cool better, and have 2 connectors each, also 2 slots each.
