Should i push more?is it worth it?4.6-4.7ghz

currently i'm running at 4.5ghz w 1.305 idle temp:20c prime95temp:45-50C room temp 25c
i was wondering if it is worth pushing the cpu more to 4.6-4.8 with higher vcore ofc.. what is the idle max voltage for i5 2500k? 1.35? and temp? 70c?(with prime95)

thanks in advance.

the max safe voltage for the i5 2500k would be 1.4v and you will see a minimal difference in performance between 4.6 4.8 but if you want to push it higher go ahead on temps you dont really want to go above 80c

Your temps are fine. Max voltage is 1.52v on the 2500k ( reminder the more voltage the more heat )

unless you really want to push it like 5ghz, your probably fine (just my opinoin)

The max core voltage for 24/7 use is about 1.425V, and the maximum Prime95 Blend temperature is about 95°C because the Tj. Max is 98°C. Many will argue with me that instability can occur in the high 80s, and that's true. However, my reason for telling you the maximum safe temperature is 95 as well as telling you what the Tj. Max is so that you don't panic if your temps reach like 80°C.

Anyway, this is Overclock.net. Therefore, it's always worth it.

1.30 is silly low for this processor. If you're doing 4.5ghz at that voltage you might have a really awesome chip. If you've got the cooling to keep it under 75c on Prime (nothing but prime will ever get it that hot) then I would go up to 1.35 and see if you can nail 4.8ghz. That's not a high voltage for this chip at all.

tried going up at 4.7 at 1.35..epic fail..idk.. pll:auto or disabled? mem freq set to auto...loadline:auto. my current cpu temp:15-20c /w normal use e.i. surfing, watching videos..etc with 20c room temp..prime95 load cpu temp:45-50c.should i push more til 1.4? the cpu never reached 70c from the time i started meddling around with this new build a week ago.. at most 60-65c.

With a 20°C room temp, anything less than 20°C is physically impossible.

Anyway, it probably needs a higher core voltage for 4.7GHz, so keep experimenting.

Internal PLL Overvoltage should be disabled for now.

Mem Freq should be set to your memory's frequency.

Loadline should be on Ultra High.

More later. My brain feels fried: I've been awake for 22 hours now.
