Read something today on [H]ard Forum about a possible push-back to October.
And we have to take that stuff into consideration because AMD never confirms or Denies anything. So far we have heard all of the AMD delays from other sources before AMD.

SB all the way. I decided not to wait any more and couldn't be happier.

I wondered about waiting for BD. And I think if I can make it till I go back to drug school college, I can wait as I'll have other things to do.

If you must get it now, go with SB and grab a nice 2500k for gaming or 2600k for gaming + enough video editing worth the extra $100. Else...

My BD analysis is: At 8 "cores" you'll only see the power of these procs in heavily multithreaded (read: not gaming) scenarios. From the info we've received about the server line, it doesn't look like these will perform much better on a clock:clock basis compared to phenom ii. Think of it as an enhanced Thuban with more cores and likely ~10% greater performance after the core factor. However, I'm an idiot, and the best thing I can tell you is just go ahead and read all about what we currently have to go by and decide if you can wait until AMD brings the competition.

I recently sold my 1090 and am3+ 990xa because I was tired of waiting also. My first Intel rig since the Pentium days and my 2500k is ridiculously easy to Overclock. I couldn't be happier.

This question has been asked a million times lol. Why not wait for about one more month for BD's release, check out reviews and make your decision then. Bulldozer might surprise us, considering the time it has been under development.

I'd wait until a week before you get home. If BD has set a release date, sweet deal, if not, go with SB and everything will still be there when you get home.

I'm an AMD guy historically, but SB is definitely the best intel chip I've seen in a while. And when you can get the best gaming intel chip on the market for $180, instead of their usual $999 pricetag... It's really hard to pass that up.

I agree with this, especially if it's going to cost you the same for both set ups. The only reason to go AMD right now is to save money.

If you need the rig today SB is the way to go. If your can wait and see what BD benchmarks wait. Even if BD benchmarks are not so good I would think the 2500K will be cheaper when BD drops. Good luck.

The replies are lop sided because AMD users feel let down by AMD, 6 months ago you would've had a lot more encouragement to give BD a try. AMD's lost this round against SB.
