Unfortunately there will be no confirmation from Amd. The post was from an employee at MSI and stated Amd lowered the forecast of available chips from saturating the market to barely having any at all. I posted the link in the Amd blog maybe 12 hours ago

That's all I'm saying I guess. As long as people pay $1000 for a chip, that's never going to happen... Just wishful thinking on my part I suppose... Mixed with a bit of AMD depression.
If you want the fastest CPU, you're going to pay for it.

I remember paying $329 for my Athlon x2 3800+ (that was a LOW END dual core). The Athlon x2 4800+ was near the $800 mark, and the FX-60 was well over $1000.

Whoever has the best performing CPU will charge the top dollar price points, period. If AMD has something insane up their sleeve, you can expect to see Intel prices drop, and AMD prices skyrocket.

The difference comes from R&D and INTEL wants to make money. When you have the production capability and performance you will ask for as much as you can.

OP,

Go SB. You will be more than happy and if you keep on waiting for the latest tech you will never buy anything.

AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Is not so powerful , i5 2500K is more powerful , and also LGA1155 is future-proof as the Ivy Bridge will support it !!

So , go for the i5 2500K !

Another vote towards SB. IMO, even if it's an absolute all star of a product, as in shining light from heaven, at best it'll only be as good as SB. That's not counting the 100:1 odds that it still wont be able to out perform SB in a single threaded contest.

If I were building right now I'd be buying SB, and that's saying a lot as I've never once bought an Intel CPU...

If you can wait for bulldozer, why not?

If BD > Sandy Bridge, go and buy BD.
If Sandy Bridge > BD, go and buy SB.

But, if you buy SB now, and BD>SB, you'll be pissed off you didnt wait 1 or 2 more months.
I used to be a huge AMD fan, but after I got my 2500k, it'll take a lot for AMD to get me back.. if you want to wait for BD and have faith in AMD, do it.. otherwise, you can't go wrong with a 1155 system

Following your logic he might as well wait for Ivy Bridge and if Ivy > BD he can wait for BD-E and so on and so forth.

Why do all amd owners think BD actually has a chance against SB? BD was built to compete against bloomfield and not sandy bridge. Also if BD was so powerful Amd wouldn't have delayed it over and over and over.

I swear to god if OBR is right i'll go Bi
