WD has raid edition ones [WD RE4's], but they aren't worth the price IMO - I've run my Caviar Blacks in Raid0 for about 2 years now and never had any issues, just as many other users on this forum

Yes, it should work fine. However, using Samsung F3 1TB drives might save you some money and work just as well.

agreed i have both the blacks and f3s, for the price of the f3s it is really a no brainer.

7200 RPM Seagate 1 TBs will run you $60 each at MicroCenter, and you can find them cheap online too.

Those are my favorite drives period.

I run 3 WD Caviar Blacks in Raid 0. i average over 200mb/s average transfer rate on them, even with my crappy onboard controller.

If i short stroked them to 300gb each the average would eb closer to 250mb/s

Good to know it's possible, I have same HDD and plan on going for RAID setup also in near future. I do think that motherboard also has role wether you are able to use RAID or not. Correct me if im wrong, but the latest mobos all support RAID 0 and 1,5 imo.

yes they do. But there controllers make a differece. Intel based chipsets handle raid better than nvidia based chipsets imo.

Perc 5i/6i is the best for raid.
