i7 920 @ 4GHz?

Thread Starter
I've looked through countless tutorials and I found myself needing to make this thread.

Hello guys!

I have an Intel i7 920, it's currently running at 2670 MHz, I would like to have it at 4GHz.

My cooling is (as far as I know) perfect.

I have the Antec KUHLER 920 and the In Win Dragon Rider case.

After reading countless tutorials, my BIOS doesn't look the same as the ones used in the tutorials.. Mine is so cluttered and confusing while all of the others are clean and simple.

My motherboard is - MSI X58 Pro-E (MS-7522) 3.0

My questions are:

1. Will my CPU handle 4GHz with my cooling?

2. Is there a way I can get a new BIOS menu? If so, how?

Thanks!

P.S. This is my Bios, what do you think I should change it to to achieve 4GHz?

Since this is your first post, Welcome to OCN!

1. Your CPU should be fine with your cooling, but it depends on the amount of voltage that your particular CPU needs to reach 4ghz

2. No, your pretty much stuck with what you have in terms of bios, just learn the layout, etc. and you should be fine - your owners manual should tell you what each setting does and should help you to correlate that setting to what the guide says.

Good luck in your pursuit of 4ghz, I'm sure it should be a fun ride!

Enter CELL MENU on the main screen to get this page, this has the multiplier, base clock and voltages

Is that all I need to change? Or is there more that goes along with it to reach 4GHz?
