Everybody is too worried about their KDR in Rush so they end up camping in the back doing nothing.

Nothing worse than 10 recons on your attack team.

I started out hating conquest and loving rush, but I've changed my opinion now.

Rush I found struggled to with choke-points, bad teams, and in general was a very immobile gameplay experience. Defenders would sit there and well, defend, and attackers would rush up into this defence to try and find the crack in the wall to get through. If you were lucky, what mostly seemed to happen was everyone acted like sheep and runs into the same choke, ignoring the OTHER half of the base completely unpatrolled, and it made winning games hell.

Conquest is much more mobile, constantly changing fronts and the players seem more capable of finding that crack in the wall.

totally agree, the BC2 conquest maps are either small infantry maps (which is fun) but the cq maps are nothing in size compared to BF2. I hope BF3 is more like BF2 in this regard.

As a game mode I prefer Rush.

But realistically the following must happen for me to enjoy it:
  • Have a team that is less than 1/4 Recon (Normally that's about half the team)
  • Have a team that can actually comprehend objectives
  • Have a team that actually bothers to communicate
  • Have a team that is less than 1/4 Recon (It annoys me so much I'm putting it twice - even more annoying when we are meant to be attacking! )

As long as it's hardcore I'll play either. Only problem on hardcore is shotty sniping. Conquest is probably my favorite as recon because you can literally be anywhere on the map, whereas with rush it's harder to remain hidden and play the objective at the same time.
