There were quite a few. The ones where "You need a phone that gets you" or "You need to control your phone, not the phone control you," or "Let's get you out of your phone and on with RL". Those were WM7 ads.

Exact same story for the x86 architecture, too.

Linux had just a chance back in 1991 as Windows did. Windows didn't really catch on until Windows 95 as far as my documentary watching skills tell me. Although 3.1 started the upwards trend. Linux was around that same time. I'm sorry your butt hurt.

I was going to buy a Samsung Focus, but then I bought an Atrix instead.
I would have no remorse if I got the focus, the Atrix just seemed like a better deal.

I had a vision last night, and in this vision I saw a sea of phones.....

Dead phones....

Yeah something like that...

Except, in the vision, the sea was huge!

It was still an uphill battle and Linux wasn't a serious competitor until ~2005 IMO at least, I'm just being honest, the whole exe compatibility thing keeps MS in the game, otherwise when it comes time to upgrade due to EOL again I would bet a lot of companies would be seriously looking into alternative OS' (I doubt Linux would gain major commerical adoption bar servers and smartphones through Android), if they had to rewrite their applications again, even if only for the lack of viruses.

Yup, never saw any of those. Keep in mind, I rarely watch tv lol, that could be why I suppose.

I don't use Windows for compatibility or gaming. I use it because I find the gui and interface extremely intuitive and easy to get around in. I could code, make music, and play tf2 on Linux just as easily but I haven't found a single theme/window border/decoration/icon set I can stand, dock bar x isn't what I need it to be, and the font rendering is terrible for Netbeans. Just my two cents. I've tried to use Linux multiple times.

In fact I would love to use it because I like the Ubuntu Gnome font smoothing the best out of any OS I have used, to bad the people doing Netbeans screwed that to hell. Then they tell me there's nothing wrong with it. Idiots.

At least the gui isn't as half backwards as OSX and the mouse acceleration is nice.

I had a vision of the future.....

Consoles replaced by Laptops / Netbooks, and even PCs. Furthermore phones would be replaced with bluetooth headsets.

Llano will bring that change, along with other APUs, wait and you will see it...

I see headsets with speakers, cameras, & phones all in one...

The future will come, and old ways will die, no more hand held stuff, only the PC/Laptop/Netbooks, all other stuff will be secondary...

The phone will be held on the arm, like watch, but the headset will gain more dominance/importance.

That's how I see it anyway...

I think the Windows Phone 7 is amazing. I enjoy it more than my Android HTC Evo 4. The user interface is far super imop, but it is trying to get into a market where users are loyal to their brand. They need to rethink their marketing strategies imop.
