LOL, got me there.

And I couldn't agree more. It's pretty funny that indie developers can do a near-copy of the WP7 interface and ecosystem with some simple apps.

Maybe WP7 adoption is poor because the prior Windows Mobile OS's were really bad. Microsoft never gave a strong effort in really supporting their mobile platforms. Perhaps people do not want to be stuck in a dead end road again.

WP7 emulation on Android is definitely not better than WP7 on WP7...I'd think you'd all realize this, given that you're on a sight dedicated to performance?

I think you should see the latest WP7 Launchers in action. They're buttery smooth.

You don't need hardware acceleration to have the faux WP7 launcher really smooth.

I thought people would have learnt long ago, MS can't optimize and get their OS' to use the hardware efficiently for crap.

Whats with all the trolls in this thread?

Honestly... I read here that somebody is complaining about battery life? I have a LG optimus 7 and it lasts about 2 days (even with moderate web browsing + media playback) You should try a android phone if you want to know about poor battery life.

I have had two android phones in the past and I can honestly say that I prefer windows phone 7.

The problem with people bashing Android is that there are too many custom roms out there. You cannot really generalize the performance of Android, as it is largely the case that manufacturers are not shipping their devices with the most optimized roms, especially with the custom interfaces they like to include.

People do tend to dismiss Android at face-value, especially when trying out horribly bloated stock ROMs thanks to manufacturers and carriers. I will recommend them to try out phones with CyanogenMod, MIUI, Darky's, Liberty, LeeDroid, etc. pre-installed, and dare them to tell to my face that Android's a "laggy" and "glitchy" OS.

Indeed. People are dismissing the fact that iOS and WP7 are inherently not very customizable, so they pretty much have a stock interface that is shipped, and their back-end developers have every opportunity to optimize for the hardware they're going to be installed on.
