I love all the Apple fanboys crying over this. Apple does not innovate.

The iPad is just an oversized iPhone minus the phone!

Seriously. If you think Apple innovated anything you are sadly mistaken. Hmm I wonder why Apple computers are now using Intel Processors....Hmmmmmmm.......

*sigh* the ignorance in this day and age is maddening. (If the shoe fits then wear it.)

Can anyone tell me how these are a copy of the iPad?

Android 3.0 Honeycomb

- Tablet-oriented version of Android, compared to 2.3 Gingerbread
- Entirely revamped UI with holographic design, more akin to a desktop OS
- Same customization potential with Android phone versions, with support for more widgets like the Stacks system

Add a drop shadow and animation to the Palm and you get an iPhone/iPad. Congratulations.

You Apple fanboys have no legs to stand on. Get the hell over yourselves. You're just mad because Apple isn't as "innovative" as you thought.

All of their released stuff is rehashed releases from other companies perpetuated through a top notch marketing department.

I don't have a problem with that. No I don't. I like seeing different spinoffs...

You have no idea how patents are written. The title is not the claim. As far as information you're providing your own brand of misinformation.

How is this patent case standing up at all? Its like patenting the basic design of a car, four wheels and an engine. Or a gun: a steel tube to funnel a projectile that is accelerated via a propellant.

My god! Its genius!

I’m going to come up with all sorts of ideas that i have no ability or intention to implement nor technical capacity to produce and patent them!

fist one... A gesture control mechanism for the operation a motor vehicle.

WoW, now i'm like apple!

The title is not the claim? I have no idea what do you mean by that? Are you referring to Apple trying to buy Palm? In which case, they were after the treasure trove of patents that Palm had. Not after their "Title"

If you're referring to my quotations on the patent. Then what I quoted IS the claim against the VAGUE patent.

Do some reading it will do you some good.

Hmm That's pretty vague. Here's why they are suing HTC:

For instance, the HTC Nexus One contains a 3.7 inch AMOLED touchscreen. (Ex. 26-A, Nexus One User Manual at 327.) The Nexus One thus includes an input device to receive computer data, from which it will detect structures, such as phone numbers and email addresses, in data such as email and SMS messages. (Ex. 26-A, Nexus One User Manual at 208.) By way of example, the functionality within the Nexus One includes Android's "Linkify" functionality, which "take[s] a piece of text and a regular expression and turns all of the regex matches in the text into clickable links. This is particularly useful for matching things like email addresses, web urls, etc. and making them actionable." (Ex. 26-B, Android Developer Site at Linkify.java) In particular, the matching functionality within Android's "Linkify" engine searches text strings for structures representative of Web URLs, phone numbers, email addresses, and map addresses. (Id.)
Sounds an awful lot like EVERY phone out there doesn't it?

This is why are suing HTC.... Because their hardware works like any other computerized device out there. Mind you Blackberries and Palms had "an input device to receive computer data, from which it will detect structures, such as phone numbers and email addresses, in data such as email and SMS messages" before the iPhone.

If you are insinuating that Apple is using some sort of MAGICAL touch screen that HTC "copied" then you are horribly off base. Need I remind you that they are suing Samsung, who PROVIDES their device parts... so NO. they don't have their screens patented. Samsung does. In addition, the patent is so vague it can include keyboards and mice (much like the ball RIM used in their blackberries or their optical motion pad...or the optical "ball" on HTC phones.)

I know how patents are written. And these are so vague they can sue ANY phone company. ANY.

Wasn't the HP slate announced before the Ipad? It had many of the things Apple calls innovation.

I just can't believe that so many people want Apple's case to be successful. It's stunning to me that people would be happy with only one Tablet maker.
