best settings to play around with 2600k

Thread Starter
Hi everyone at Overclock.net
This is my first post so please forgive me if i mess up.

I have been overclocking my 2600k and was wondering if there were any other settings i could play around with so as to try and lower my current voltage (1.345) and still remain stable.
The aim of corse is to lower my temps (max 69-75-72-73)
and possibly to overclock further.

The only settings i have changed so far are
multi - 46
vcore - 1.345
pll - 1.7125
cpu spread spectrum - enabled

everything else if pretty much standard

i have done a little playing around with the llc setting, offset mode and pll overvoltage ... but with little joy

i have done about as much reading on this forum and some others as i can take, without just joining and asking directly

any and all advice welcome and appriciated

Welcome!
Hmmm, I don't really know much about the 1155 systems, but ever since the s478 days, it has been advised to keep spread spectrum disabled, especially when overclocking.
Perhaps someone else could elaborate on that...

All the following things may help you reach stability with less voltage:
Increase VCCIO voltage
Disable C3/C6 (when in offset mode)
Change phase control to manual - ultra high/high
Enable/disable pll overvoltage
Manually enter ram timings
Set CC to 140%

The fun/annoying part is finding the correct combination that works for you...

thanks for your speedy replys
during my reading people have said a few times that the pll overvoltage should not be needed/ used unless you are going over 5ghz ... ?
i shall play around with offset mode if no joy with the current way im ocing
i hadnt tried setting the CC to 140% yet thanks will do
once again thanks

pll overvoltage isn't normally needed until 4.8Ghz+ but there are times when it does help at lower voltages. Worth a shot.

Run FFT 1344 and 1792 for 20 minutes each if you want a quick stability test. Those two are very difficult for SB to pass. If you can run those without problem then you'll most likely be able to pass a 12 hour Prime95 run
