System just loops when trying to wake from sleep, need help.

My specs are posted below, my system is stable at 3.6 through prime 95 and IBT, but for some reason when i put her to sleep and try to wake her up again, she just loops over and over and over with no end in sight. I have to kill the PSU to get it to boot properly. Can this be fixed so that when i put my computer to sleep, i can awaken it with ease?

Hybrid sleep, C-states, look into those things as mentioned. Did you try what people said?

C-states are somewhere in the BIOS CPU configurations. C-states allow cores to drop in clockspeed and voltage (and shut off), basically they are sleep modes for the cores. Sometimes they interfere with your computer waking from sleep.

It could just be the fact that you are overclocking......... and in some cases there is no solution other than to not overclock. Or it could be your mobo or the BIOS version. You could try updating the BIOS but that should be a last resort in my opinion because you could cause problems with other things like your current stable overclock. I dunno, I've just made my peace with sleep not working. My computer idles really low voltage and temps so I'm ok with it .

I have yet to see this C-states in my My MOBO, I did try turning off hybrid sleep and it didn't yield any results, and my motherboard is up to the most recent version. any idea where id find these "C-States" in a gigabyte?

Yeah, I dont know your mobo or anything so it might not be available?

As I said it could just be overclocking, its not just your chip/mobo that this happens to, it happens to me on my i5 2500k too. I was reading a really long thread about it on [H] where some were saying sleep & overclocking have not really 'gotten along' for awhile. Could be specific to Intel chips too but I dont remember reading that. There were not any great solutions other than BIOS updates, not overclocking, or, turning off Internal PLL Overvoltage (which was directed at Sandy Bridge, so idk if that applies to you).
