Need help hooking up multiple fans

Thread Starter
I have the lamptron fc2 and I want to hook up 3 fans per channel.

Off the controller there is 3 wires
Attachment 224492

Trying to connect it to this to run 3 fans off it. Attachment 224493

Prob is it can only connect to the end with just one yellow and after hooking up it's a no go.

Please help. I have never ran multiple fans off on channel. Do I need something additional?

I am assuming a splitter

you can split the red and black on the channel but you will only be able to connect the yellow rpm on for one fan.

Are you over loading the channel maybe? Add up the fans wattage and see.

Unfortunately, none of your fan connectors are wired correctly to connect direct to the controller. I'm not sure what fans you are using, but heres some options. This adapter cable will connect between the fan and controller. It's not as clean and will add a lot more wires to deal with but it will work. You can daisy-chain other fans off it as well (I'd suggest no more than 3)

Alternatively, and a better way would be to snip off all those unneeded fan cables and re-pin to 3-pin connector. Then if you want to multi-up the fans to one channel, get a 3 x 4 splitter. It's a much cleaner way to connect things.

And lastly, if you are handy with wiring/soldering, there is plenty of extra wire from the unused fan cables to make your own 3-way splitter.

You need something like that. That one is a 4 fan but it was the quickest link I could think of. Microcenter or similar store should have it.

Edit - This is assuming you have 3 pin fans. Otherwise you will need a 3 pin tx3 to 4 pin molex adapter as well. Or a tx3 to (3) 4 pin if you can find such a thing.
