Overclocking GTX560 SLI?

Thread Starter
Hey guys

I've currently got 2 GTX 560's in my system that run at stock voltages/speed and are 29degrees at idle and 55-60 on full load. I want to overclock these cards and reach their maximum potential.

http://www.dabs.ie/products/asus-gef...refs=472980000

this is the exact card I purchased two of.

So my question is since I have never overclocked a GPU, what overclocking software should I use, how should I go about overclocking them and what settings should I use?

thanks!

Use something like MSI afterburner to OC the cards.

Raise clocks and test stability/temp with kombustor or any benchmark that load the card to the max. I personnally love Unigine for testing Fermi.

These Asus may have Volts unlocked too. You can raise volts to incraise further your clock. test again for stability/temp with benchmark or Kombustor.

You dont really need to OC the memory since the gain are nearly nil.

so if software is all the same, maybe I could stick with ASUS stuff and use smartdoctor? Everybody I see is using Afterburner though, what makes that so good?

Im pretty sure you can run over 900 core in SLI without any temp issue. The DirectCU cards have good enough cooling and they all have an heatsink on the VRMs, wich i REALLY LIKE.

MSI Afterburner doesnt seem to allow me to overclock the core voltage for some reason, yet SmartDoctor does..is this fixable?

I did "Unlock Voltage control" by the way, and I restarted. Still can't change it though.

To overclock via MSI afterburner it is VERY easy.

Install it and then go to settings > general under safety properties check all 3 boxes and click apply. close and restart MSI afterburner and you are ready to rock.
