I was wondering what you guys thought about this, because I don't know if it will be worth it in the end. So this is what I'm considering:
  • I have a good condition Apple iPad 2, 16GB Wifi in White + A Blue Smartcover
  • I may trade for a Galaxy Tab 10.1, brand new.
  • Or I might sell it, for around $500 cash and buy a Kal-El Tegra 3 tablet with Ice Cream Sandwich when they come out. Such as the Transformer 2.

I'm just bored of iOS, and loved Android. I switch between them all the time, and will probably stick with Android from now on. So I'm wondering what I should do, since Apple products usually hold their value better than other brands. I could sell the iPad tomorrow for $500 cash.

Apple is a very basic and noob friendly platform, I personally hate anything apple-related. I would go with the Galaxy tab or any other Android-based tablet simply because there is no competition when it comes to android. But once again, I'm not a really big fan of tablets.

I highly doubt you'll get $500 for a used one, even with a smart cover. They sell for that new...

As for whether you should, they are both great platforms. I don't see any harm in experimenting. I'd probably wait if you are ok with your iPad for now. It probably won't lose much value by the time an ICS device comes out.

I've had a couple offers for $500, Apple products hold their value very well. I think I'm going to wait until the Transformer 2 is announced, and then sell it.

Yup. Like most noobs will go into the Terminal and start using emacs or vi. In Linux you need to download them. But they come with Mac OS X. iOS is a boring platform.

Seriously? Those people are idiots. Apple products hold their value well, but they don't stay at retail value...

That depends what you want to do with it. I'd stick with iOS if you want to play good games, otherwise I'd go for the droid if you can get a good price for your iPad 2.
