I need help for Intel IEST!!!!!

Hey guys, i need to turn on Intel SpeedStep Technology on Q8400 to save a pc power when i'm iddle but when i go to the bios IEST option is already disabled and still i cannot enable it exactly i can't go over IEST option, so right now im running with Multiplier 8.0 but i need to save a power and yeah mobo is ASRock G41C-S and i already updated the bios but still is disabled, so anyone help me?

Try Enable C1E in Bios first, then try to turn on speedstep. If you can not see C1E try going to an older BIOS and it may show up in there. could be that it is disabled.

Halt-state is also part of speedstep but i dont know if it effects it.

If you don't want to do that right away then go to advanced power settings and check out processor power management.

thank you for the replay but when i click in the Processor power management then i got "System cooling policy" and after clicking on that i have "Settings" with two options: Active and Passive, so what do i need to do here ?

Oh finally i did it i enabled first C1E on the bios and then i enabled intel speedstep, so thanks alot sir
