Descirbe your feeling the first time your rig worked :D - Page 2

I was quite happy knowing that my first built rig booted up just fine, only later did I realize that I accidentally left the reset button unplugged. I discovered this while overclocking and encountered my first BSOD. I pressed the switch and nothing happened...

I was very stoked and proud.

It switched on first time, I didnt have a copy of windows at the time so spent an hour or two mucking around in the BIOS lol.

nothing special because I've only gotten like 1 DOA psu out of 15 builds. So everything should be in place

Although I am now retired/student my biggest "sighs" came when an engine I had overhauled (i must have done hundreds by now) started up, had no mechanical "thrashing" noises and idled correctly. Of course it was a sigh for a job well done but it also was a sigh as now I knew I had my part of the rent payment "in the can".

Computer sigh was when I first put my home hosted web site on the web and I was able to access it from another computer. This was a big deal for me.

I believe the words out of my mouth were,"Oh thank God." I really didn't want to deal with troubleshooting my first build.

4 years ago = Q6600 + msi p6n sli platinum mobo + 8800gtx build, utterly shocked when it booted but NNOOO video output. I tore it apart for the better part of a week trying to figure out what was wrong. Drove 3 hrs to have a friend try to debug it with his computer... nothing. I gave up and we dropped it off at the nearest hole-in-wall computer shop.
He called me back in 30mins, I had an extra standoff behind the pci-E slot, Lol.
Rest of the weekend, we proceeded to get our butts handed to us as we tried to tweak original crysis into "high-ish" settings.

The newest 2500k + sli 460gtx when much smoother... no more 20fps in flotsem on low settings
