Some of the older Core2 had a hidden Turbo mode that gave an extra 100mhz or so on single threaded apps (only applied to the mobile chips)

Bro. It's against the rules to post more than once in your thread under 24 hours.
2. Like I said, look for the PLL.
3. I HIGHLY doubt you'll be able to unlock anything in the BIOS.

You can ...what? to the BIOS?

What files?

If SetFSB doesn't work for you, I don't know what else will.

Just because you can know the PLL doesn't do you any good. You need software that can use it. If you can't find it, you need to make it. If you don't know how to make the software, you're not going to overclock that laptop.

Also, at 70*C load temperature, you're already approaching the maximum safe working temperature of 72*C. I suggest you go no further with overclocking. Your installing bigger CPU was enough. Unless you upgrade the cooling further, your computer will be overheating.

1. Post some proof. CPU-Z Screen shot+ 5 hour run using LinX or Linpack settings in OCCT
2. What in the hell is splicing the bios? Are you talking about flashing it with a different motherboard BIOS to achieve overclock?
