I wouldn't overclock a card with that kind of VRM arrangement. The 570 was well known for popping without too many volts added to it.

The 580 would handle 1080p without a problem I think.

is what I would recommend for you.

Kepler is the name of the next architecture from Nvidia so details are slim. It's expected to arrive around first quarter 2012 though, so about 3 months too late for BF3.

580 for sure!

The 570 is not that strong and cannot overclock at all, because of the cheap VRM's.

I regret getting the 570 and will be stepping up to the 580 soon now.

Kepler isn't out yet, don't expect it till past 2012. Some non-reference GTX 570's have great VRM's, and don't cost much over reference.

EDIT: Like the MSI above me, and this Asus DCII

You wouldn't have had that problem had you asked for recommendations on here first. The two cards to consider (the MSI TFIII and Asus DCII 570s) have already been recommended and don't have any weak VRMs to worry about

I think the VRM issue is a thing of the past now, no reported deaths for quite some time, this could mean that it was revised. Not sure though.

This is true but for the reasonable prices that the TFIII and Asus DCII are going for there really isn't a good reason to consider the reference card. Anything you'd care to do on the reference card can be done better on a non-reference 570, except for external exhaust coolers, I think the only option for that is the new EVGA 570 that is on a 580 PCB.

HAH!

Guys, get your shovels!

The s*** is piling up...

No way in hell are kepler GPU's going to be 3x as fast.
