Those all-in-one water cooelrs are kind of iffy imo.

In comparison, how would the Prolimatech Megahelms stand up against the Corsair H80?

I'd love to get something like the Silver Arrow, but to be honest... I don't think it would fit. But also I have to say that, because I do have ram with large heatspreaders (Corsair Vengeance) Larger air coolers may not fit.

The Thermalright Silver Arrow will fit in the 690 II with room to spare as it only has a height of 163mm and the 690 II has a width of 214mm. The only problem would be orientation as the SA is 147mm wide and you might need to remove the top case fan if you mount the cooler vertically. I'm not familliar with the mounts and if they allow you to choose the orientation...but some way or another it will fit.

If RAM tolerance is your problem i heard Noctua NH-D14 has a higher tolerance for tall RAM heatsinks.
Nonetheless both are pretty big, personally for a CPU like yours i'd buy a smaller but good quality heatsink from the well respected and well known manufacturers (Noctua, Prolimatech, Thermalright). Personally i'll soon buy a Noctua NH-U12P SE2 in spite of the fact that NH-D14 is only couple of bucks more (in my country).

Yeah, I honestly don't think I even need such an over-kill cooler anyway. I'm not a hardcore overclocker, or even big time enthusiast. Sure, I would like to get 4.7GHz (I have no desire for more than that) but I really don't think 4.7GHz would call for such a massive heatsink.

I know I have one of the larger mid-tower cases on the market. The case wasn't my main concern, it was the memory. Vengeance Memory = TALL!

Sure they are sort of a handicap in this situation, but they run great at 1600Mhz, both sticks work 100%, and I got the kit on sale for $60 with free shipping. tongue.gif
