955 Overclock Problems: Onboard sound cuttting out? - Page 3

Yeah thats totally me. The sounds completely died so I got a new mobo, and now its happening due to overclocks instead. Either way I guess its "kinda"funny, but this still doesnt fix my issue.

I have had to drop my OC to stock, and Ive been running 3.9 ghz with a 2600 nb for months. Now I cant get it there without severe audio distortion.

I read I may have to uo the SB voltage to help it keep up with an OC'ed NB, but I dont know if that will fix it or not.

Still wondering would a dedicated sound card fix the problem, or will one even fit in my case? I have all my pcie slots covered....

Any help will be repped, If I could get this to 4.2ghz I would be golden.

You have the best motherboard you can buy for that cpu.
Its not the motherboard so that means 2 things.
Its you doing something wrong or its the cpu.
And if the cpu is fine untill 3.9ghz it kinda only leaves one choice.
So list or take pics of the bios.
