HD555. Or HD595, if you want to spend more money.
Best soundstage, and wearing comfort.

for closed, for open. The AD700 will have a larger sound stage, but will lack some bass punch. They will also leak sound and allow background sound to leak in. The A700 will have a smaller sound stage, but will have punchier bass and isolate your ears from background noise while keeping sound from leaking out.

I've never owned a pair of headphones that expensive, but I cant tell you that the pair I own now are extremely comfortable and sound great to my "untrained" ear. They've got good bass. I'm sure an audiophile may criticize these, but I keep in mind they have a detachable Microphone that sounds great to my friends in Ventrilo. Seeing how you're looking for one to game with, and this has done great for that, movies and music I feel this is a good candidate.

They're the Creative Fatal1ty Headset, seen here.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826158082

There is one major flaw to them so if you decide to purchase these treat them well. Well.. I sleep with them and drop them all the time, but it's the wires you gotta be careful of. The wires are stiff, thick, long and not really reinforced where they should be.
I also damaged the headphone plug by catching the wire with my ankle as I walked away from my computer and tore it out of the jack, this isn't the products fault but just remember the wire is long and this is always possible. Cord length is 8'

I solved the wire issue just before they were about to break by noticing a tear in the rubber and I immediately reinforced the wires where necessary with Black electrical tape, and then later used Hot Glue. Now they should last me many years longer

Let me know if you want to see what I did to them, I can post pictures but will only do so if you're interested.

I love my AD700's. I can't even listen to music without them on now. Amazing for gaming too.

Throw in a refurbished Creative Titanium off of Amazon and you're set. Dw about it being used, I bought one and it looks brand new. Only $50 too.

These guys are right. Anyone who suggests Fatality, Steelseries, Razer, Logitech Phsyko or any other gimmicky "gaming" or "surround" or "3D" nonsense is just plain ignorant.

If you need something with a mic, just buy a zalman clipon and add it to a normal pair of headphones btw. If you absolutely MOST have a pre-attached boom-mic, grab a PC360 from sennheiser although you are paying something like $100 for that boom mic when you can get the $5 zalman and attach it yourself.

We cant get a decent recommendation for you UNLESS we have a sort of audio preference. Most of the people are here are 'blind recommending', because we don't know exactly what you want.

The HD555, 595, and AD700 are all extremely bass light, with emphasis going to clarity in mid-high ranges. This may be what you want, but if you want bass in your music, youd be better off with a pair of ultrasones or ATH-M50s.

Music movies and gaming is basically the extent of everything headphones can do, so let us know more about your preferences so we can make an educated suggestion.

What they said.

Honestly, we need to know about your music tastes and type of games you play. Also factor in people that the OP's got onboard audio. Honestly, blind recommending does no one any good. You must find the best solution for overall sound quality for the budget. i.e. there's little point of nice headphones into a crappy source.
